Women have been at the forefront of resisting the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine, its imperialism and its relentless political repression from the start.

They are doing so despite an array of challenges. Nearly all key figures in the anti-war, anti-Kremlin movement have been forced into exile, facing isolation and threats to their safety. Inside Russia, women’s voices are increasingly stifled, with soldiers’ wives and mothers branded as “foreign agents” and feminist activism equated with “extremism.” Meanwhile, the state rolls back reproductive and sexual freedoms, as propaganda casts women in subservient roles aligned with Putin’s vision of “traditional” family values.

Join The Moscow Times for Women Against the Kremlin, an event uniting leading women anti-war politicians, activists, artists and academics resisting military aggression and political repression. Together, they will address these challenges and showcase their strength, resilience and commitment to change.
